Marcello Ziliani

Marcello Ziliani was born in Brescia in 1963 under the sign of fish. In 1988 he graduated in architecture at the Politecnico di Milano with Achille Castiglioni as supervisor (and unmatched teacher). He mainly dedicates himself to design, developing projects for the furniture, accessories, lighting, bathroom, office, objects and early childhood sectors, also dealing with set-ups, theatrical sets, art-direction, design coordination , graphics and communication. He pays particular attention to the aspects of sustainability, ?human-centered design? and ?agile producibility?. He does not like absolutisms and unshakable certainties, he likes to speak softly and above all to listen. He believes that any project is, after all, a desire, a hope of flight. Like everyone else, more or less, he has put aside the minimum indispensable endowment of prizes and awards, has held conferences, workshops, been part of juries, participated in exhibitions. He recently received two Good Design Awards - 2017 and 2019 - from the Chicago Athenaeum, the Archiproducts Design Award ADA 2018 and the Iconic Award 2019 assigned by the German Design Council. Since 2011 he has been a lecturer in the product design laboratory of the third year of the degree course in industrial design at the University of San Marino.
